My son, being a teenage boy, is among many others that are trying to find their identity, starting to face trials and challenges, and trying to navigate their life. Psalm 139 is loaded with scripture that helps answer and guide these questions and challenges. There is no three strikes and you’re out with God on your side, just singles, doubles and home runs.
GOD KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU
How much of you does God know?
God knows everything about you. He created you, watches over you and knows all your struggles, even before you go through them; and He knows the solution to each of those problems. He knows all the good moments you will experience in your life, and all the bad days you will encounter. Nonetheless, He loves every part of you, and you were created with a very specific and unique features and abilities.
Scripture: “You have searched me, Lord, You know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways.” – Psalm 139:1-3
You cannot hide from God
Where in your life and your faith do you feel like you need to stop hiding and move closer to God?
We cannot hide from God. He sees where we are in the world, in our struggles, where our heart and our mind are and every secret we may have. He sees it all and loves you so much.
Scripture: “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the Heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your right hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.” -Psalms 139:7-10
God will light the way
When you are feeling down or sad, what is the first thing you do? How often do you turn to God and ask Him for help?
God is the true light. Even when our world is dark and we are feeling down and hopeless, if we turn towards God and ask Him to light our way, He will shine a light for you. God is the true light.
Scripture: “If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to You; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You.” – Psalm 139:11-12
