7 Days of prayer and scripture for your husband

It is my mission in life to be a godly wife. There are days when he drives me crazy, and I want nothing more than space. But no matter how annoying and irritating he can get, I still pray for him, send him scripture and find ways to strengthen either our marriage or my love for him. I find when I stop doing this, I don’t feel as close to him, we argue more, and our marriage feels like it is going backwards instead of forward. Wives, intentionality is everything! Even when your husband does you wrong, says or does something hurtful, or flat out is mean to you, it should never keep us from praying for them, your heart, his heart, healing and forgiveness, and restoration in your marriage.

Day 1 – For my husband’s mind

Scripture: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12

Father, I know our thoughts can be deceived by so many external factors. But I know that you are a God that doesn’t look at the thoughts in the mind, which can easily be corrupted, but the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. I pray for my husband’s heart. I pray that even though He doesn’t have a strong relationship with you Lord, I pray that you still guide him in the direction that leads to good. Please give him wisdom Lord, to make good decisions. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Day 2 – For my husband’s energy and motivation

Scripture: “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” – 2 Chronicles 15:7

Father, I pray that you fill my husband with motivation and the energy to produce hard work. I pray that he does not become burned out and that his hard work is seen and valued by all those around him. I know that at the right time, Lord, he will be rewarded. Thank you for never letting my husband quit or give up. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Day 3 – For my husband’s heart

Scripture: “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10

Father, give my husband a soft heart and keep it from turning to stone. Father, I pray that you give my husband a heart that is teachable, wise and pure. Shield his heart, Lord, from the wicked ways of the world. Help him discern right from wrong and help him guide our children down a righteous path that follows Your ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Day 4 – For my husband’s understanding

Scripture: “I pray that our of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” – Ephesians 3:16-19

Lord, I pray for my husband’s understanding of Your love. Lord, I pray that one day he gives his life to You and builds a relationship with You. Broaden his mind and soften his heart, Lord. I know that You know that all things happen in just time and according to Your plan and Your will. Amen.

Day 5 – For my husband’s wisdom

Scripture: “Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.” – Proverbs 15:33

Lord, I pray for my husband’s wisdom. Lord, teach him how to be humble and pure of heart. Help him guide others around him to lead to Your path and Your plans.

Day 6 – For my husband’s mental health

Scripture: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2

Father, I pray for my husband’s mental health. I pray that you renew his thoughts and his mind so that he can perform Your will. Father, you know my husband’s mind, you know where he needs refreshment or healing. I pray for restoration of the weak points in his mind and pray that they are healed and transformed into something strong and beautiful. Give him thoughts and ideas that move, inspire and pick up others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Day 7 – For a community around my husband

Scripture: “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” – 1 John 4:7

Lord, I pray for my husband’s fellowship. I pray that He learns how to love everyone, despite their actions, history or wrong doings. I pray that my husband is able to build a community to surround himself in, where he can lean on wise instruction. A community where he can learn to allow others to pray over him and others to carry his burden’s, as well as the other way around. Father, You tell us to ” carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Gal 6:2) Father, build that community around him. Soften my husband’s heart to be welcoming to that community as well. Thank You Lord for putting people in our lives so we don’t walk this journey alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
